Chakras 101- To Block Or Not To Block

Chakra’s play an important role in the functioning of our mental, physical and spiritual body.There are many signs and symptoms that let us know if energy is blocked or functioning. 
THE FIRST CHAKRA (RED)- known as the root chakra is located at the root/base. It is responsible for survival and grounding. If blocked, an individual can feel fearful, anxious, angry and frustrated. Clues to this will be tightened jaws and fists and sometimes violent behavior based on insecurity. Obvious physical malfunctions may manifest in problems such as obesity, hemorrhoids, constipation, sciatica, anorexia.When Balanced: Individual will be in balance and will act wisely and with moderation.
THE SECOND CHAKRA(ORANGE)- known as the sex chakra. One above the root chakra. This chakra mean’s “one’s own place.” The function for this chakra is desire, pleasure, sexuality and procreation. If blocked a person may be restless and confused. Physcial malfunctions can result in problems such as impotence, frigidity, uterine, bladder or kidney problems.When Balanced: Individual will feel emotional gratification, courage and attraction to the opposite sex. Strengthening and balancing.
THE THIRD CHAKRA (YELLOW)- this chakra deals with will developing the ego. The solar plexus is the seat of emotions. It deals with power. When the chakra is balanced, the need to feel important and achieve outside material identity is transformed into true contentment and faith. An open solar plexus chakra is shown by acts of charity and selfless service.
THE FOURTH CHAKRA (GREEN)-known as the heart chakra. Located in the center of the chest. This chakra deals with love. It is one of the most important of the body centers because it is believed that if this chakra is open, all the other chakras will come into alignment with it. If blocked, physical symptoms such as asthma, high blood pressure, heart disease, or lung disease may result. An open and balanced heart chakra demonstrates compassion and the ability to see and feel through the eyes and heart of the other person.
THE FIFTH CHAKRA (BLUE)- the purity chakra. this chakra deals with communication, creativity and speaking higher truths. When balanced the cosmic laws of God and life are understood and lived. One will have calmness, serenity, purity, a melodious voice and a good command of speech. If blocked, physical symptoms such as hearing problems, sore or stiff neck,colds or thyroid may occur.
THE SIXTH CHAKRA(INDIGO)-the command chakra and the third eye. Located in the middle of the forehead. The function of this chakra is clear seeing and intuitive sight. When balanced and opened, the third eye is able to see clairvoyantly. Intuitive knowledge is available for help in making decisions. If blocked, malfunctions such as blindness, headaches, nightmares, eyestrain or blurred visions may result
THE SEVENTH CHAKRA(VIOLET)- known as the crown chakra. Located at the top of the head. Deals with perfect understanding and having a higher state of conciousness. Opening this chakra can bring through manifestations of higher wisdom and divine love. If blocked, physical symptoms such as depression, alienation, confusion, boredom, apathy or an inability to learn or comprehend will sometimes be apparent. This chakra represents the highest level of attainment for understanding cosmic bliss while in the physical body and the last to be developed.
